Ponte fabric covers knit fabrics made mainly from circular interlock knitting/double-faced knitting, using polyester, polyurethane, rayon, cotton, and other materials. Because the face and back are smooth, the stitches are not very noticeable, and it has moderate thickness, firmness, and stretch, it is used for refined cut-and-sew tops and bottoms, as well as pants, skirts, and jackets.
When selecting, use a polyurethane blend if you want stretch and recovery, a rayon blend if you want a smooth hand, moisture absorption, and drape, and a cotton blend if you prioritize water absorption and comfort against the skin. Polyester is a material that makes use of strength, dimensional stability, and quick-drying properties.
