Nittobo Advantex handles fusible interlining, as well as fusible stay tape and waist interlining. Centered on polyester, it also offers products made with cotton and nylon, so you can choose according to garment reinforcement and shape retention needs.
Fusible interlining is used by applying a resin that bonds with heat to the back of the outer fabric, and is used in areas where you want to maintain shape or add thickness and firmness. If you want to make the most of a thin fabric’s texture, a supple type is a guideline; if you want to stabilize areas such as pocket openings or belts, a firm type is a guideline. Fusible stay tape can be chosen in straight or half-bias types depending on the area where you want to suppress stretching.
Customer reviews mention that it is less likely to make thin fabrics too stiff, offers stability after bonding, and allows thickness and elasticity to be used differently depending on the application. Examples of use include reinforcing soft materials and use with shirts, blouses, jackets, cut-and-sew items, innerwear, and leather.
