Depending on the application, choose hand sewing thread for button sewing, which is thicker and stronger than ordinary sewing thread, and choose serger thread, which is made up of multiple strands to form the stitch, for overlocking raw edges and seaming. As for materials, you can consider polyester for its strength, dimensional stability, and quick-drying performance; silk for its luster, smooth feel, and moisture absorption; nylon for its lightness, strength, and abrasion resistance; and cotton for its absorbency and feel against the skin.
